What is the CTA? Enacted on January 1, 2021, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) included an abundance of new anti-money laundering legislation. The NDAA is a combination of federal laws that primarily specify the annual budget for the United States Department of Defense. Leah Holland joins Blethen Berens as an associate attorney after earning her juris doctorate from Mitchell Hamline. Leah entered the legal profession as a second career after working in healthcare for more than 20 years. Her medical career was devoted to providing care for those in her community as an occupational therapist in a rural hospital. The Minnesota Earned Sick and Safe Leave Act (ESSL) is a new act of legislation that will go into effect on January 1, 2024.
