Case Study: Avoiding Loan Issues Early

Remedying a Contractor’s Communication Breakdown:

A client and their lender were funding a construction project over an extended period of time that involved many different subcontractors and change orders. In addition to coordinating the closing of the construction loan and preparing our client for the construction process to begin, our office managed the construction draws over the course of the project.

When there was a communication breakdown among the contractors, we were able to flag the problem immediately in our review of the subsequent payment request and start the process of remedying the issue before the client and lender paid out any additional funds.

When these types of issues arise, payment disputes and other issues usually follow. Although no project can be completely problem-free, because we were able to identify this problem early in the process, we avoided the issues snowballing and assisted our client in seeing the project through to completion.
