Julia Ketcham Corbett, managing partner at Blethen Berens, has recently been appointed as a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association Six District Ethics Committee as a Member Investigator. As a Member Investigator Julia will be part of a team that investigates ethic complaints against attorneys who primarily practice in the sixth district of the bar association which includes Nicollet, Blue Earth, and Watonwan County. Volunteer investigators must apply for this position before being appointed and attend training before receiving their first complaint. Congratulations to Julia on this honor and her volunteer work!

The Minnesota State Bar Association recently announced the certification of Ben McAninch, partner at Blethen Berens, as a MSBA Board Certified Civil Trial Law Specialist. Of the approximately 25,460 active attorneys in Minnesota, only 181 are Civil Trial Specialists. The certified specialist designation is earned by leading attorneys who have completed a rigorous approval process, including an examination in the specialty area, peer review, and documented experience. Certified attorneys have demonstrated superior knowledge, skill, and integrity in their area of practice. The MSBA is Minnesota’s largest and most influential voluntary organization of attorneys that provides continuing legal education for attorneys.
